The Art Volt Collection continues to expand its territory with a new display of artworks at Vanier Library on Loyola Campus. This is an initiative of the Library Services Fund Committee (LSFC), whose mandate is to provide additional or improved library services at the Webster Library and Vanier Library. In 2023, the student committee members were given a tour of the Vanier Library. They suggested that the Library could benefit from the addition of student artworks. The Art Volt Collection thus appeared as a natural choice to realize the vision of the LSFC.
This display features artworks by Sarah-Mecca Abdourahman, Esther Calixte-Bea and Dayna Danger. The selected works, Mundane as My Sheed, Welcome to Canada and End of the World all address, in their own way, the connection to the land, home and identity. Artworks will be on view until December 2024.
